Project Background:
The Baobab Home's mission is to foster a nurturing environment for children and their families in a remote rural area. This mission encompasses a range of projects including
- a children's home for orphaned and vulnerable children,
- (pre-) primary school education (Steven Tito Academy, serving 200 students who have displayed a high aptitude for learning but cannot afford tuition) and,
- outreach work in the Bagamoyo community.
The primary goal is to increase self-sufficiency and be more ecologically sustainable. Powering the well with solar would be in line with current Baobab goals of becoming a largely self-sufficient community.
